The South is defined as follows...
The place where...
1) Tea is sweet and accents are sweeter
2) Summer starts in April
3) Macaroni & Cheese is a vegetable
4) Front porches are wide and words are long
5) Pecan pie is a staple
6) Y'all is the ONLY proper noun
7) Chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy
8) Everything is Darlin'
9) Someone's heart is always being blessed
So one morning the phone rings. Al answers it and is greeted by the Assignment Editor from "Florist Review" magazine. They exchange pleasantries and the Editor continues the conversation, inviting Al to participate in an article regarding Southern Hospitality and its influence on floral design. The magazine article would also feature industry professionals from across the South who design with a lush, casual elegant Southern aesthetic when styling for entertaining, home decor, parties and receptions.
Can you say...Win, Win? Al was his charming self and aced the interview. We reviewed our photo archive and selected design examples that best illustrated the Southern theme. One month later, Al is a feature in the November issue of the magazine!
At 2000 A.D. Inc. we are so proud of Al and his amazing talent. Congratulations boss, and oh yeah...bless your heart!
